How can I improve the battery life of my Windows 10 laptop?

Many laptop models last a long time on battery source. But they tend to fade over time if you don't take proper care of them. Any device degrades over time, you just need to know how to  care for it.

How can I improve the battery life of my Windows 10 laptop?

So if your laptop isn't one of them, you've got a bit of a problem. Some laptops don't even have a removable battery, so this option runs out very quickly. Not sure if you'll run out of power if you're trying to get things done and  can't get your adapter or power. Here are some simple tips to extend the life of your laptop battery.

 1. Change your built-in power saving options

First, you need to understand your notebook's power management systems. If you're using Windows, it's in the power options. You can get there by simply searching for it in the start menu.

However, if you are using macOS, you can find it in System Preferences under Energy Saver. If you think that the default settings are set for minimum performance, then you are wrong. You can easily change them and make more balanced settings to save battery power.-

Please note that changing the power settings can have a dramatic impact on your laptop's performance.Balance your system when running on battery power; slows down the processor and dims the screen brightness to save battery power. Likewise, a high-performance setting puts full power into the processor and makes your screen glow; This is a good setting when connected to an AC power source.

 2.  Battery maintenance tools from laptop manufacturers

This tool mainly depends on the manufacturers of your laptop. They may include battery maintenance tools for your laptop battery.Sometimes, depending on the laptop battery, they also recommend other suggestions  to extend the lifespan of the laptop. They even have utilities depending on the Windows versions. So use them directly to monitor  your battery status.

3 Wear a battery monitor  for more detailed information.

You can always use other utilities to check battery life. They would work on any laptop even if they are not the manufacturers.

MacOS users can try Battery Health, BatteryDiag and Windows users can check BatteryCare, BatteryBar. These tools do not replace your laptop's battery capabilities, but allow you to maintain them accurately.

4. Keep the brightness low

Too much brightness can drain your battery pretty quickly. So if you run out of power, simply turn off the source of the excessive power consumption: the display. You won't believe how far the screen can scroll. But don't overdo it.Set a lower level that doesn't affect your eyes too much. But this is a great way to avoid straining your eyes too!

You can even disable adaptive brightness and control the system yourself. But don't think it will give you an extra hour or so. It will stop the drainage a bit, but it won't solve the overall problem.5. Keep it cool

Heat is the enemy here, my friend. Not only will it kill life in the short term, it will also shorten lasting health. So never let your laptop get so hot that a thermal shutdown is required.

If you're constantly experiencing thermal blackouts, you might want to check the status of your laptop. This situation will drain  battery life pretty quickly. So keep your laptop as cool as possible, or at least avoid airflow restrictions.

 6. Avoid full downloads

This option is crucial. Most people forget  or don't even know it.Many batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and will degrade over time if you charge and discharge your laptop regularly.

People wear out their batteries a lot and the lifespan shortens a bit quickly. Sometimes it can be acceptable, but emptying the laptop completely every day is too much. A deep discharge prevents long-term charging of  batteries. So avoid it at all costs.7. Quit apps and processes that consume a lot of battery power

This method is another great way to save battery power. There are so many  applications and processes that consume power in Windows. Stopping them or turning off apps you don't need will save battery life.

Some applications are running in the background and using battery power. So just go to task manager and disable them from there. Although it's an old trick, it will surely work.

Sure, it would be annoying to find out that you've been running a torrent or Skype app for the last hour that you forgot to close, and it was consuming all of your battery life.

 8. Remove drain hardware

If you are away and the battery is low, try disabling the drain hardware as well.It also helps disable unnecessary hardware or features.

So it would be a good time to turn off the wifi you're not using or the bluetooth. But don't overdo it! Disabling all small hardware doesn't bring it back to 100%.

In addition to these tips, you should either a) not leave the battery unused for more than 50 days, as this tends to decrease battery life, or b) not use software that extends battery life.So try the tips and keep your battery healthy and happy with longer battery life!
